So, you’re thinking about escaping the November grey to instead be under the Canary winter sun?! Excellent news. While much of Europe is wrapping up in heavy coats and heading indoors, Gran Canaria is gearing up for the final and most spectacular gay pride celebration of the year: Maspalomas Winter Pride 2026.

From 2 November to 8 November 2026, Playa del Inglés will transform into a sun-drenched haven of colour, music, and pure celebration. Drawing on our 18 years of travel together and our frequent escapes from our home base in Amsterdam to the sunny shores of the Canaries, we’ve put together your ultimate survival guide to make this Winter Pride unforgettable.
The Vibe: Sunshine, Freedom, and the Yumbo
Winter Pride Maspalomas is Northern Europe’s favourite winter escape for a reason. Celebrating its 12th anniversary edition, the festival expects to draw over 35,000 visitors seeking sunshine, nightlife, and community.
The legendary Yumbo Centrum serves as the beating heart of the festival. Every evening, the open-air center lights up with massive free live shows on the Main Stage, featuring international artists, drag superstars, cabaret, and DJ sets.
The Big “Must-Do” Parties & Events
To truly experience Maspalomas Winter Pride, you need to mix the free Yumbo stage shows with some of the iconic ticketed daytime events. Here are our top picks:
1. The Pool Parties (Swimwear Mandatory!)
- Wet & White (4 November): The legend returns to Amadores Beach Club! This is Gran Canaria’s most popular gay pool party, featuring sets by legendary DJs Micky Friedmann and Sharon O Love, accompanied by dancers and jacuzzis. Trust us that this will sell out, so grab your tickets early!
- Tropicana Pool Party: Another high-energy staple featuring the Vengaboys and DJ Aron. Think panoramic views, private VIP jacuzzis, and some of the best energy of the week.
- Studio 54 (3 November): Held at the Blue Marlin Skylounge, this is disco at its absolute finest. Put on your best retro swimwear, enjoy views over the Maspalomas dunes, and groove to uplifting house beats.
2. Out on the Water (The Famous Catamarans)
You can’t come to Maspalomas without taking your pride out onto the Atlantic.
- Bottoms Up Men-Only Super Catamarans (Thursday 5 & Friday 6 November): These are the ultimate catamaran parties with up to 200 guys on board, live sets by DJ Ivan Toribio, a 7-person jacuzzi, and an all-inclusive bar.
- XXX Naked Boat Party (Friday 6 November): For a wilder, clothing-optional vibe, this men-only cruise offers open-minded fun, watersports, and custom play areas.
- Magic 3 Mixed Cruise (Sunday 8 November): A slightly smaller, more relaxed mixed catamaran cruise to wind down the week as you sail along the breathtaking south coast.
3. The Winter Pride Walk (6 November)
Visibility and human rights remain at the core of the event. The colorful Pride Walk usually kicks off around 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM and winds through the streets of Playa del Inglés for 2 to 3 hours.
- Local Tip: If you want to elevate your experience, you can buy a ticket to board one of the official pride trucks and celebrate with a bird’s-eye view of the crowds!
Andrew & Iain’s Winter Pride Tips
- Book Your Hotel Yesterday: Maspalomas is famous for its men-only, clothing-optional resorts, but they fill up months in advance. Check out our hand-picked guide to the 14 best gay men-only hotels in Maspalomas to find your perfect home base.
- Try Something Local: Take a break from the Yumbo! We highly recommend booking a Sunset Sea Kayaking tour along the coast, or joining the local Vineyard Tour for award-winning Canarian wines and traditional food.
- The “Naked” Dune Etiquette: If you’re heading to the famous Maspalomas Dunes for some clothing-optional tanning (or a late-afternoon stroll), always pack plenty of water, high-factor sunscreen, and respect the local environment.
We’ve traveled to over 50 countries together, but there is something incredibly liberating about the open-minded, body-positive energy of Maspalomas in the winter. Grab your sunglasses, pack your favorite swimwear, and we’ll see you under the Canarian sun!
