Mark Your Calendars: The Essential Guide to Sitges’ Top 2026 Events (Confirmed Dates!)

Sitges Lifeguards End of Season 2025

If you follow our travels, you know that Sitges is our happy place. It’s that rare destination that manages to be a relaxing beach town, a cultural hub, and one of Europe’s wildest party capitals all at once.

While Sitges is wonderful any weekend of the year, the real magic happens when the town throws a party. And trust us, nobody throws a party quite like Sitges.

The energy during festival weeks is indescribable, but it also means accommodations get snapped up months in advance. If you are eyeing a trip in 2026, you need to lock in your dates now.

To help you plan, we’ve compiled the confirmed dates for the major 2026 events. Get your diaries out and start booking those flights!

Here is what’s happening in Sitges in 2026.

1. The Sitges Carnival 2026

Dates: Tuesday, February 10th – Wednesday, February 18th

This is the big one to kick off the year. Sitges Carnival is legendary across Europe, easily rivaling the energy of larger cities. For over a week, the town is a riot of color, incredible costumes, and non-stop music.

  • Traveler Tip: The main events are the massive parades on Sunday (Rue de la Disbauxa) and Tuesday (Rue de l’Extermini). If you want to sleep, don’t book a hotel right on the parade route!

2. International Vintage Car Rally

Date: Sunday, March 1st

For a complete change of pace, this event is pure elegance. Dozens of stunning, pre-1924 vintage cars drive from Barcelona down to the port of Sitges. The drivers and passengers dress in period clothing appropriate to the era of their car. It’s a fantastic spectacle and a great excuse for a sunny Sunday lunch by the sea.

3. Easter Week (Semana Santa)

Dates: Thursday, April 2nd – Monday, April 6th

Spring is a beautiful time to visit before the intense summer heat hits. Easter in Sitges offers a mix of traditional Spanish culture and holiday vibes. You’ll witness solemn, stunningly beautiful religious processions winding through the narrow streets of the old town, coexisting with lively terraces and busy beaches.

4. May Bears Sitges

Dates: Thursday, April 30th – Sunday, May 3rd

Sitges is globally famous as an LGBTQ+ hotspot, and the “Bears” weeks are huge draws. The May event is the smaller, friendlier sibling to the massive September gathering. It’s a fantastic atmosphere that essentially marks the unofficial start of the summer beach season.

5. Corpus Christi

Date: Sunday, June 7th

This is perhaps my favorite aesthetic event of the year. For Corpus Christi, the residents of Sitges spend hours creating incredibly intricate carpets made of flower petals along the streets. The air smells amazing, and the visual effect is stunning.

  • Traveler Tip: You must arrive early in the morning to walk around and view the flower carpets before the religious procession walks over them in the evening!

6. Sitges Pride 2026

Dates: Wednesday, June 10th – Sunday, June 14th

Sitges Pride is ranked as one of the best small prides in the world for a reason. The main stage is right on the beach promenade, the vibe is incredibly inclusive and energetic, and the Sunday parade along the seafront is pure joy. The whole town turns into one massive, glittery celebration. Hotels will sell out for this week.

7. Fiesta Mayor (Sant Bartomeu)

Date: Around Sunday, August 23rd

This is the heart and soul of Catalan tradition. Fiesta Mayor honors the town’s patron saints with a festival that feels ancient and chaotic in the best way. Expect traditional dances, towering human pyramids (castellers), fire-breathing dragons in the streets, and, on the night of the 23rd, arguably the most spectacular fireworks display you will ever see exploding right over the iconic church.

8. September Bears Week

Dates: Friday, September 4th – Sunday, September 13th

The bigger international Bears event closes out the high season. It is one of the largest gatherings of its kind in Europe. The town is packed, the bars are overflowing, and the atmosphere is incredibly social for ten straight days.

9. The Wine Festival (Festa de la Verema)

Dates: Friday, October 2nd – Sunday, October 4th

Sitges has deep winemaking roots, particularly famous for the sweet Malvasia wine. The Grape Harvest Festival is a sophisticated and delicious weekend. Enjoy gourmet food stalls set up along the beach, endless wine tasting opportunities, and the traditional grape-stomping competition. It’s the perfect mellow autumn weekend.
